Carol Morgan, a native Texan as well as a native Dallasite. She graduated from Ursuline Academy (K-12) and went on to Loretto Heights College in Denver, Colorado where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts and an Education Minor.
For the past thirty-five years she has been an elementary teacher with the Dallas Independent School District. Carol retired in 2004 and after a friend encouraged her to pursue her painting full time, she picked up the brush and hasn't stopped. Now she is hooked! Her true love is painting portraits of children but she paints everything she sees fearlessly.
Since she has only reentered the art world recently, her work reflects her love of travel. In 2004 and 2006 she traveled to France with friends and took pictures of some of the places they visited. Just this past summer she took a painting workshop in Taos under the tutelage of Kathleen Dello Stritto. Her most recent works are an exploration of the lights and shadow found only in New Mexico. Of course Carol continues to paint portraits of her friends and their children, who have become her muses.
